Mezzo Soprano Louise Mott has taught Singing privately and at a number of schools in Devon since 2005. She is currently a member of the VMT teams at Shebbear College, Bideford College, Braunton Academy and Pilton College. Former students have gone on to study music, singing, acting and musical theatre at institutions including Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Birmingham Conservatoire, Durham University, University of Wolverhampton, Exeter College Centre for Creative Industries, Bath Spa University, University of Chichester, BIMM Bristol, Cardiff University, Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, East 15 Theatre School and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

As well as teaching, she is a busy freelance singer performing in opera, oratorio and recitals across the UK and abroad. Louise Mott studied singing at the Guildhall School of Music, Royal College of Music (supported by a Wolfson scholarship) and National Opera Studio (supported by Sybil Tutton and Ralph Vaughan Williams awards).

Louise has sung with all the major opera companies in the UK and opera roles include Ariodante for English Touring Opera; Katarina Schratt Mayerling for The Royal Ballet at The Royal Opera House; Larina Eugene Onegin for Scottish Opera on Tour; Fidalma The Secret Marriage and Annina Der Rosenkavalier for Opera North; Bradamante Alcina for ENO; Annio La Clemenza di Tito for WNO; Edith Alfred, Agrippina, Ariodante, Sesto Giulio Cesare, Orlando, Rosmira Partenope, Serse and Dido Dido and Aeneas for The Early Opera Company; Meg Page Falstaff, Count Orlofsky Die Fledermaus Party Scene, Zweite Dame Die Zauberflöte, Flora La Traviata and Nicklausse Les Contes d’Hoffmann for Diva Opera in the UK and on tour in Europe.

Other highlights have included Marcella Alban (Tom Wiggall) at St Albans Abbey; Marcellina Marriage of Figaro and Second and Third Lady The Magic Flute for Opera Project; Meg Page Falstaff for Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern; Mozart’s Requiem and Solemn Vespers for the Bach Choir and the OAE at the Royal Festival Hall, London; Helen King Priam at the Brighton Festival, Elgar’s The Kingdom, Bach’s St Matthew and St John Passions and Messiah (Mozart edition) at Truro Cathedral; Bach’s B minor Mass at Exeter Cathedral; Waltraute Die Walküre for Secret Opera.

Recent engagements include Sesto La Clemenza di Tito and Angelina La Cenerentola (Red Earth Opera) and Orlofsky Die Fledermaus, Suzuki Madama Butterfly, Zulma L’italiana in Algeri, Marcellina Le Nozze di Figaro and Witch in a school’s project based on Hansel & Gretel (Diva Opera)

Plans for 2025/26 include the role of Tisbe in La Cenerentola and Ensemble in La Boheme on tour in South Africa the UK and France with Diva Opera and Messiah with Truro Choral Society in Truro Cathedral.

Louise is also a coach and workshop leader for Diva Opera‘s children’s chorus, preparing the group for performances in Carmen (2021) and Cosi fan Tutte (2017 & 2022) at The Hurlingham Club, London, as well as workshops and performances of Hansel and Gretel in 2023, 2024 and 2025 at schools in London.
